As a Phantom Screens distributor, we get a lot of questions about their products. Phantom Screens are retractable door, window, and wall screens that are only visible when in use. When you don’t want to see them, they roll right back up into their housing, leaving your view completely clear. In this blog, we’ll tackle our commonly asked questions about Phantom Screens.
How Are Phantom Screens Installed? When you order your screens, the main parts are the tracks for the opening, the housing unit, and the screen itself. In most cases, the housing is mounted next to the door frame, while the tracks are installed at the top and bottom of the door frame. If the screen is being installed in a new build, the housing can be recessed to provide a seamless look. *All Phantom Screens must be installed by certified Phantom installers to guarantee the warranty.
How Do The Screens Work? Phantom screens come in both manual and motorized options. Standard door and windows screens work manually. Holding the handle, pull the screen to the end of the track where it will click into place. With wall screens, you have the option of manual or motorized. For the motorized screens, they work by remote and can be stopped at any height, up or down.
What Colors Do They Come In? There are 10 standard colors for the housing units (classic white, linen, almond, sandalwood, beige, green, brown, grey, bronze, and black) but with custom coatings, the color possibilities are endless. The screens also come in different colors and mesh types to fit your wants and needs.
What Types Of Doors Do Phantom Screens Work On? The great thing about Phantom Screens is that they work on doors that normal screens don’t. You can install Phantom Screens on outward opening doors, french doors, bifold doors, archways, and unique openings.
